I am working as an assistant professor at the Information Systems in the Built Environment (ISBE) group at the Department of the Built Environment of the Eindhoven University of Technology since 2008.

My main research interests are:
  • Construction Informatics
  • Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • Computer Aided Architectural Design
  • Semantic Web, Linked Data
  • Knowledge Representation
  • Interoperability, Standardization
  • Parametric and generative design
These interests also overlap with my teaching activities, which I enjoy doing about half of my time spend at TU/e.
I am involved in several external research and development initiatives, and enjoy knowledge valorization in the form of consultancy in the building and construction industry.

If you are interested in Building Information Modeling, you might be interested in taking a look at our handbook on this topic, which is available at Springer and Amazon. A revised version in English is currently being worked on and is expected to appear in 2017.
